Frequently Asked Questions

What is TVfeeds?

TVfeeds lets you share comments (called ‘Chatters’) and begin conversations about a show with any others who are watching it at the same time! You could say it is a new kind of a social network based on TV content. As the show progresses you write about what you’re watching and read and interact with what others have to say. Think of TVfeeds as your own massive lounge room full of people chatting about the show on your TV now – without all the noise or hassle!

As you can see this is a new, social and interactive way to experience television of any kind, whether a movie, the news, a sitcom, a cooking show, a show with hot girls and geeky guys, a car show, a documentary, a talk show – TVfeeds turns literally anything that’s on TV into something even more interesting - including re-runs of Hogan’s Heroes, Skippy, Live Darts or Fishing competitions and the Ab Cruncher Infomercial that keeps going…and going at three in the morning! (TVfeeds is great for insomniacs).

You can chatter all you like with TVfeeds on iPad, your iphone or at TVfeeds.com. Just visit the homepage, where you’ll see our unique visual TV guide, touch the show you’re interested in, hit the big red ‘Go to Chatters’ button and you’ll be taken to the Chatter page for that show.

Head to TVfeeds now and Chatter away! Whether using the iPad, iphone or our website, add a conversation to your favourite show as you watch it today!

What is TVfeeds Chatter?

Twitter calls them ‘Tweets’. We call them ‘Chatter’. Chatter just refers to all the comments you and others write about a TV show while you’re watching it. In other words, everything people say on TVfeeds is Chatter. Got it? Go for it – Chatter away!

I’ve come to TVfeeds to comment about a show. How do I do it?

Easy. Each TV show in our TVfeeds visual guide has a big red button urging you to ‘View Comments or comment now!’ Simply find the show you’re looking for in the guide, click on the image, hit this button and you’ll be taken to the Chatter page for that show. Once you login or sign in, you can then Chatter away! Easy!

Can I Chatter about a TV show before or after it’s playing, as well as during?

Yes, yes and yes. You can go to any Chatter page for any show at any time to chatter. Chances are, you won’t be the only one. Big rating shows will always have a crowd chatting about them at most times.

How do I join or sign in to TVfeeds?

At the top right of the website page you’ll see the words ‘Sign in (or sign up)’. Click there to sign in using either your Facebook or Twitter login or by joining TVfeeds with a simple email sign in.

If you sign in using Twitter, for example, you have the option of linking your account to your Facebook login too. This will give you the option of posting to both social networks, and checking out what your friends are commenting on too.

Do I have to sign in every time I go to TVfeeds?

No. If you have joined TVfeeds (previously signed in using your Twitter or Facebook details) and you come back to TVfeeds at another time, as long as you are logged in to Twitter or Facebook when you come back, our system will remember you. If you’ve logged out, just reconnect with Twitter of Facebook and begin chatting away.

If you signed up to TVfeeds with your email, hit the ‘remember me’ button so that each time you want to chatter you won’t need to sign in.

Do I have to join or sign up to access TVfeeds?

No. If you don’t have a Twitter account or a Facebook account, it’s no major drama. You can sign up to TVfeeds with your email and a password. Once you’ve done that, hit the ‘remember me’ button so that each time you want to chatter you won’t need to sign in.

If you don’t want to sign up to anything, that’s fine. You can head to a Chatter page anyway and scan what everyone else is saying about a show. That’s always interesting - and often hilarious!

What are the TVfeeds Chatter Ratings?

The Chatter rating icons are a bit of fun to let you ‘rate’ the Chatter of others. Much like TV shows and movies are rated, you can do the same on TVfeeds by rating others comments.

The ratings icons include:

Like If it’s a Chatter that does it for you, you’ll like it!
Dislike Don’t agree, got issues, just anti – dislike it!
LOL Reward a humorous chatter with a LOL
WTF? Some Chatters just make you go hmmmmmm…
Boring Oh no, I went to sleep reading that.
Spoiler For those who give away the plot! Nuke that Chat!
Improper Ok, that’s just wrong. This Chatter needs to go away.

You can add these ratings to your own chatter or the chatter of others. If you have ideas for new ratings, please let us know!

What or who is a Spoiler?

Spoilers are nasty, evil characters in pointy black hats who give away the movie or show plot to spoil the enjoyment of others at TVfeeds. Our ‘Spoiler’ rating function is intended to minimise the harm and damage these people can do and kick them off the site if they keep it up.

What is the Spoiler rating?

Our Spoiler rating function is a tool for the community to use when someone is giving away the plot or spoiling the enjoyment of a show for the rest of the us. As soon as someone sees a Chatter that gives away the plot, they can use the ‘Spoiler’ rating to obscure the information so no one else has their enjoyment destroyed. If they keep doing it, the system bocks their access for good.

What is the outcome for a continual Spoiler?

If anyone keeps revealing a plot or outcome of a show, the system bocks their access for good. So a word to the Spoilers - don’t do it. You’ll spoil TVfeeds for yourself!

What are the TVfeeds Show Ratings?

Because TVfeeds is an interactive TV experience, it can offer new forms of ratings for TV shows. These can be particularly valuable for Chatters who want to know which shows are most popular, for example, and TV channels and advertisers who may want to know more about a shows’ general appeal and audience.

What is the TVfeeds Visual Guide?

You know what a TV guide is, right? Well that’s what the TVfeeds guide is – only we’ve made it more appealing, with pretty pictures and an interactive design people get a kick out of. But wait, that’s not all! You’ll also see that each TV show in the guide has a big red ‘View Comments’ button. Click this and you’ll be sent to its Chatter page where you can join in the live conversation about the show. TVfeeds is like a massive lounge room where everyone is chatting about the same show - but without all the noise and fuss!

Why does this ‘#’ get added to some words in the Chatters?

This mark: # is called a hashtag. We automatically add it to the name of a show and some other words in Chatters because our system sends them to Twitter and it helps them get found in the right conversation stream there. So a hashtag identifies a conversation topic and in this case it allows the Twitterverse to find and enjoy TVfeeds conversations while they’re happening – and visit the site.
